How would we know that Twitter has become a ghost town?
I think it’s happening already, and we know because Elon accidentally told us.
My latest, on Substack:
Checking out @ivory!
Say Hello to Ivory. We are now available to all on Apple’s App Store! We have launched as “Early Access” because we still have a lot of exciting plans ahead of that will make Ivory even better. Go download it, try it free for 7 days, and experience it for yourself!

Ivory is out. It’s the Mastodon client by the folks who made Tweetbot and it’s the best of the first crop of clients I’ve tested if you’re in iOS.

Anyone waiting for a good Mastodon client for macOS should go buy Spring for Mac on the App Store, then use the link in Settings → About Spring to download the beta of @MonaApp for Mac. It’s already spectacular, and developing fast. Here I have it set up to follow three timelines, including a pinned hash tag.
This feels appropriate for the second thing I've ever posted to mastodon.
This is the year that the Fediverse overtakes the Metaverse.
That's right.
According to GlobalData, 2023 is going to be a "Metaverse winter" and a "Fediverse spring".
Just noticed @ivory added one last alternate app icon with latest beta 🥲
I love that I have half a dozen #Mastodon client apps installed on my phone, they're all under active development, and they all have as many (or more) features as the official app. It feels like the early days of Twitter apps, but without even the possibility of the rug getting pulled out from under it.
It's my birthday :catjam:
