@buffer's popular social media management software can now schedule and post to @Mastodon servers. Coywolf has a first look at what it's like to connect and publish posts from Buffer to Mastodon.
Over the River Wharfe and through Middleton Wood. A cold, bright winter day but not very photogenic - these are from a morning that was.
Just right-clicked a link in a mastodon post and copied it then sent it to someone and only then did it finally occur to me that it was completely a unfucked-with link. Not some BS redirect link that tracks where it came from and who I sent it to. Just a regular link.
The government confirms the #OnlineSatefyBill will class video showing people crossing the Channel in small boats in a 'positive light' as illegal content. Upload filters could restrict lawful posts with serious implications for public discourse.
How will the algorithm know what is encouraging immigration and what is a video clip of a documentary about the issue? #freedomofexpression
Finally a starry night here on Waiheke. I took a few photographs, using a Pixel 6 and a tissue box as a makeshift tripod.

P.S. That's the tame version.
I have nothing to say about this other than to describe it. It’s the view from the road on the way down to the beach near here. The sun wasn’t setting. It was only about 13:30hrs. However the sun is very low in the sky at this time of year. The clouds are coloured by the pale sun and the sea shimmers with the reflection of it. In the foreground is a grassy slope that goes down to the gate which we use to access the seashore. In the far distance is the Island of Rum.
